Dr Fred Kyei Asamoah was appointed by His Excellency the President of Ghana, to head the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training as Acting Director General after the coming into force the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 1023 of 2020. As a pharmaceutical expert, Dr Asamoah has practiced in both Ghana and USA and has provided training strategies and performance coaching techniques.

During the period as Executive Director of erstwhile Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET), Dr Asamoah exhibited a high level of dedication to TVET development and progress in the country. He is part of a team that developed a five-year strategic plan to restructure TVET delivery in Ghana 2018-2022, and align it with government’s vision of using TVET as a tool for job creation, industrial development, and economic growth. He intends to use all the appropriate means to harness potentials in the sector to ensure that the vision of the government is achieved to develop the relevant skill needed by the industry now and the future. Dr. Asamoah believes in results and set to change the face of TVET and Skills Development in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Asamoah holds a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at the University of Denver, Colorado -USA; a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi; and an ongoing Masters Degree in Business Administration at the University of North Carolina, Pembroke- USA.
